From an Irish perspective, one of the most pleasing developments of this season so far has been the progress of Liam Scales at Celtic.
Prior to this campaign, his future in Glasgow looked very uncertain. The defender's playing opportunities were severely limited after his move from Shamrock Rovers in the summer of 2021, something that would ultimately see him join Aberdeen on loan last season.
While the Wicklow man would impress during that temporary switch, there were suggestions that he would leave Celtic during the summer. Having stayed put, he is now quickly establishing himself as an important part of the side under Brendan Rodgers.
Scales has put in a number of impressive performances in recent weeks, including in the Old Firm derby a few weeks back.
Celtic man Liam Scales gets bizarre yellow card in Livingston win
The Wicklow man was in the team once again for this afternoon's visit to Livingston, with the Celtic defence put under a bit of extra pressure early on after Joe Hart received a straight red card just before the half hour mark.
That made little difference to the result, with Scottish Premiership holders ultimately running out as 3-0 winners.
In saying that, one decision during the game has raised plenty of eyebrows. Liam Scales received one of the strangest yellow cards you are ever likely to see, being booked after he was on the receiving end of a potential leg-breaker of a challenge from a member of the opposition.
How was Scales booked for this?

You're not going to see a worse yellow card decision than that this weekend. Luckily for Scales and Celtic, he walked away unscathed.
The 25-year old has been part of a number of Ireland squads in the past, but has yet to make his senior international debut. Considering his form in recent times, you get the sense that this could be about to change during the October international window.
