Celtic were made to work for the win against RB Leipzig at Celtic Park this evening, with Brendan Rodger's men managing to grind out an impressive 2-1 win against the Bundesliga outfit.
Celtic's Kieran Tierney would open the scoring, lashing a shot beyond the Leipzig keeper on 11 minutes after great work by James Forrest on the right wing:
In the second half it looked like the SPL side would hold out until disaster struck on 78 minutes when Jean-Kévin Augustin headed home from a brilliant deep cross from Conrad Laimer:
But to say that Celtic's response was swift would be doing them a disservice, with the Scottish side scoring right from the kick off to regain their lead in style, a 63 seconds after Leipzig had levelled it:
It was only 14 seconds from tip off to when Odsonne Eduoard tapped the ball home and although Kevin Kampl hit the post with an effort and had another glorious opportunity in the dying stages, Celtic held on to claim a win which sees them go level on points with their rivals and with a fighting chance going into the final two games.
