The love affair between Celtic supporters and Kieran Tierney is about as strong as any between a player and the fans of a club, and that was clear to see on Thursday night ahead of Scotland's friendly with the Netherlands.
At just 20 years of age, Tierney was named captain of his country and was handed the armband by Malky Mackay to lead his troops into battle.

Like a bunch of doting parents, Celtic supporters soon flooded social media to express their delight at seeing the man who is nailed on to be named the next club captain at Parkhead do the honours at international level.
Darren Fletcher has him beaten by a few weeks in terms of being the youngest Scotland captain in the last century, but this is still a big moment for a man tipped for very big things.

Kieran Tierney is a born leader. I'm not surprised that he's captaining his country at the age of 20 because at Celtic there are two players who really get the team fired up and going, and those two guys are Tierney himself and Scott Brown. Proud moment for him.

What a night for @kierantierney1 Scotland Captain at 20. I have a feeling he’ll still have the armband at 30. And 35.

Kieran Tierney. What it must be like to be that Bhoy over the last year or so. Absolutely living the dream.

Having played down the idea of a possible move to England in the future, claiming that he only ever dreamed of playing for Celtic and that he would love to be a one-club man in recent weeks, the love for Tierney in the green half of Glasgow continues to reach new heights.
