Rangers' return to European football for the first time in six years was an absolute nightmare as the club lose 2-0 on the night (2-1 on aggregate after winning the first leg) against Progrès Niederkorn.
The result has been described as the worst results ever by a Rangers side, as they conceded two sloppy goals and offered nothing in reply.
While qualification for the Europa League group stages would have been considered a huge plus, to lose in the first round of the qualifiers against a side that didn't even finish in the top three in Luxembourg last year is a disaster.
In a predictable turn of events, Celtic fans have taken great joy in the failings of their bitter rivals, and wasted absolutely no time in expressing their delight on social media.
Rangers out of Europe.. honestly it's got nothing to do with wearing boots with green on them !! ?

The Rangers humiliated by Progres! Luxembourg minnows boot Pedro's flops out of Europe & leave Dave King with a major crisis on his hands.

I'm sitting here laughing like an eejit. The new Rangers has brought with it comedy gold I could only have dreamed of. God bless Pedro!

This time last year Cliftonville knocked out a better Luxembourg side than the lot who have just beat Rangers 2-0 tonight at the same stage.

The stats really do look ugly, in particular the fact that Niederkorn only managed a single goal in Europe since 1977 before tonight.
Still, the green and white half of Glasgow will be enjoying themselves tonight.
