Celtic need a major overhaul this summer, with the squad set for a reshuffle. A number of players will leave, with the club likely to cash in on some of their most valuable assets.
The likes of Odsonne Edouard look set to be sold to fuel the rebuild, with new boss Ange Postecoglou likely to have his sights set on a number of targets.
Goalkeeper is one position where an upgrade could be required. The likes of Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain split time at the position last season, but it is unlikely either are seen as long-term solutions for Celtic.
It looks as though Postecoglou could be eyeing a reunion with a player he knows very well.
Sky Sports are reporting that Celtic are considering a move for Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan, who spent the second half of this season on loan at Arsenal.
The 29-year old is a player Postecoglou is very familiar with, having worked with him for four years with the Australian national team, including at the 2014 World Cup and their 2015 Asian Cup triumph.
Ryan has made 124 Premier League appearances since 2017 and would bring a huge amount of experience to Celtic. He has also been capped 60 times at international level.
It is believed that a number of clubs are interested in his services this summer, including Arsenal and various clubs on the continent. However, he could be tempted to Glasgow by the combination of his former manager and the promise of a number one role.
The Australian would be a very solid signing for Celtic and would be a good start to what is sure to be a very busy couple of months It is expected he will be making a decision on his future over the next couple of weeks.
