With certain Celtic fans convinced that Dedryck Boyata has hitherto refused to play for their club this season, the 27-year-old Belgian defender insists he has been injured.

Back in the Celtic starting XI for today's Scottish Premiership tie against Hamilton at Celtic Park, a section of fans were making their feelings toward the former Manchester City defender perfectly clear.

Dismayed that a player they believed to have refused the opportunity to play for the club should be picked at all, Brendan Rodgers decision to play Boyata has resulted in the only imaginable conclusion; he scored Celtic's only goal in their important 1-0 win this afternoon.

Choosing to adopt a fairly quiet approach for his celebrations, it was clear that his teammates were very excited that Boyata had grabbed the crucial goal.
