Celtic have delivered an eighth Scottish league title in succession this afternoon after recording a comprehensive 3-0 win against Aberdeen at the Pittodrie Stadium this afternoon.

Neil Lennon's side only needed a draw to secure the title ahead of next week's derby showdown with Rangers at Ibrox, but today's result has brought celebrations forward.

With two-thirds of the treble already in the bag, attention will now quickly turn to the the Scottish Cup final later this month when the Hoops will attempt to secure a historic treble-treble.

Mikael Lustig and Jozo Šimunović ensured an important victory in Aberdeen today with a goal in each half, before 21-year-old Odsonne Edouard kick-started celebrations with a third late on.

Irish winger Jonny Hayes also made a contribution on the famous day, coming on as a substitute to make an impact.

Title celebrations, however, look set to be rather muted until after next weekend's Old Firm derby. With the title heading to the other side of the city yet again, Rangers will be keen, no doubt, to spoil their rivals' party.
