Celtic got their Champions League qualification hopes off to the best possible start with a 3-0 win away to Armenia's Alashkert FC this evening.
Although they are still some way from reaching the Champions League group stages, Brendan Rodgers will undoubtedly be pleased that Celtic could get the job in this first qualifying round all but done before the second-leg.
Through Odsonne Edouard, James Forrest and Callum McGregor, Celtic got their three goals. However, the scoreline doesn't necessarily tell the whole story.
While it will almost certainly be enough to carry the Glasgow club through, Edouard's opening goal did not come until the 46th minute; Forrest and McGregor adding to it only as the game moved into the final ten minutes.
Having recently travelled to Dublin to take on Shamrock Rovers in a pre-season friendly, Rodgers' men demonstrated their precision with a 7-0 thumping of the Tallaght-based side.
While tougher roads unquestionably lie ahead on this qualification route, Celtic will be happy to have avoided any potential upset as happened as Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps two years ago.
