What a hit! Way back at, er, 8pm, we were writing about a potential upset at the Bernabeu, to go along with the shaming of Barcelona last night.
That was thanks to this outrageous first-time goal by Lorenzo Insigne, which put Napoli ahead at Real's expense. Their lead didn't last long, however: a mere seven minutes had passed before Karim Benzema equalised with a header. Madrid the hit the front two minutes in the second half: Ronaldo skipping by a couple of defenders to tee up Toni Kroos.
Then, this happened. Defensive midfielder Casemiro - not exactly a prolific scorer - has sealed the first leg for Real with this preposterous volley. It was past Pepe Reina before he realised it had been hit. What a strike!
Casemiro Volley
Is it the best goal of the game, or has Insigne shaded it?
