Seven headers, one keeper clanger, one miscued shot, one miscued clearance ended up in a goal for Derby County as they beat promotion chasers Cardiff City Tuesday night in a 3-1 victory at Pride Park.

Derby's second goal, which brought them level was a thing of terrible beauty. Following a corner there was an epic game of football tennis as both teams conspired to keep the ball off the ground for as long as possible. Cardiff 'keeper Neil Etheridge then inexplicably dropped the ball in an effort to avoid a Derby corner. The ball was poorly cleared and the head tennis resumed until Cameron Jerome was released in the box and bundled the ball home to restore parity.

Take a look at this shambles of a goal below:

Let's just be thankful that fact that it was Richard Keogh that finally put an end to an atrocious piece of play by releasing Cameron Jerome to poke past Etheridge.
The result leaves Cardiff in second place one point ahead of Fulham in third, while Derby lie in 6th as they look to cement their play-off spot with two games of the Championship left to play.
