With just over a week to go until the start of the Premier League season, there has been little movement on a potential transfer for Caoimhín Kelleher.

The Irishman made it clear a number of months ago that he hoped to be a no.1 for the 2024/25 campaign, something that would likely require a move away from Liverpool. The goalkeeper made quite a few appearances for The Reds last season, something that was expected to result in interest from a number of clubs this summer.

However, there have been few indications that an Anfield exit was imminent for Caoimhín Kelleher.

It has been suggested that Liverpool would be open to letting the player leave Merseyside, although they would seek a fee of around £25million in order to sanction a deal.

Reports suggest that one interested party has now emerged.

European Giants Reportedly Considering Move For Caoimhín Kelleher

The Sun are reporting that Juventus are keen to sign Caoimhín Kelleher this summer, with a view to making him their new no. 1.

It is suggested that the Italian giants kept a close eye on the Irishman last season, with their scouting of the player continuing into pre-season and would not be put off by Liverpool's substantial asking price.

While this would be a brilliant move for Kelleher, it would be complicated by the fact that Juventus have already signed one goalkeeper this summer. Michele Di Gregorio joined the club on loan from Monza last month, with that move set to be made permanent in the summer of 2025.

Of course, it is not out of the norm for clubs to recruit two goalkeepers during the same transfer window.

Liverpool have been linked with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili in recent days, with the club said to be in negotiations over a €30million move for the Georgia international. While it has been said that they would then loan him out this season, it has also been reported that they view him as a long-term successor for Alisson Becker.

If that is the case, selling Caoimhin Kelleher this summer would make a lot of sense for all parties involved.
