The movie event of the century can't be far away now.
With the release of Dave Tynan's short film, Rockmount, exploring Roy's efforts to get onto the Rockmount U12 side, it's now only a matter of time before a full-length biopic of Roy's truly epic life goes into production.
We understand the wheels are already in motion and here we can exclusively reveal our wonderful cast...
Peter Capaldi as... Alex Ferguson
With the sad passing of Fergie doppelganger, Mark McManus of Taggart fame, only 20 years ago, there is now only one choice to play the man...

James Cromwell as... Jack Charlton
Fortunately the services of James Cromwell have been secured to play Jack Charlton, who looms over the film like an evil, brooding, long ball pushing presence, much like Cromwell pulled off as Capt. Dudley Smith in LA Confidential.
Fair City's Bela Doyle as... Maurice Setters
Cromwell's evil sidekick, Maurice Setters, will be played by the lad who plays Bela off Fair City. He pips Larry David to the role.
Rainier Wolfcastle or the blond lad off From Russia WIth Love as... Alfe Inge Haaland
The producers are torn here between the Simpsons and McBain star Ranier Wolfcastle and that blonde lad off from From Russia With Love.
Jimmy Corkhill as... Mick McCarthy
Indelibly associated with Liverpool, Jimmy Corkhill will have to adopt a Barnsley accent and talk at length about bacon slicers for this film.
Your man off Everybody Loves Raymond as... Niall Quinn
Brad Garrett off of Everybody Loves Raymond will have to find superhuman reserves of chirpyness to pull off Niall Quinn.
John Bishop as... Jason McAteer
For the Liverpool comic's first proper acting role, he doesn't have to have to do anything, playing Merseyside cheeky chappie Jason McAteer.
Boy from John Lewis ad as... Gary Neville
Gary Neville will be played by the young chap off the John Lewis ad and will have to be defended on numerous occasions by Keane throughout the film.
Rowan Atkinson as.... David Ellery
One of Keane's chief nemesis, David Ellery's prim and proper Harrow boy dweebisness will be beautifully portrayed by Rowan Atkinson
Buzz off Home Alone as.... Adrian Chiles
For Roy's former best friend we could look no further than Home Alone's Buzz
And starring as Roy himself...
Russell Crowe
To play Roy, we needed a character of magnetic screen presence, a broody, surly and charismatic actor, a man able to capture the violent passions that rage inside the Cork maestro...
Honestly, Andy D'Urso is having nightmares just looking at this picture
Young Roy tigerishly vying for a place in the Rockmount starting 11 will be played by the young lad from Love/Hate
