It was another dismal afternoon for Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United as they were victims of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of old rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford today.

There were strong Groundhog Day vibes as Ten Hag's system was ruthlessly dismantled, Salah ran rampant and the terraces emptied long before the full time whistle.

Speaking after the match, Erik Ten Hag defended his own system, while pointing the finger at individual mistakes that let his team down.

"The structures were right. We made individual mistakes."

Casemiro will again be the scapegoat, and rightfully so. Two errors from him created Liverpool's two first half goals. The Brazilian was hooked at halftime after a performance that reminded fans again that he is nowhere near the level that Manchester United require to compete against England's top teams.

However, Casemiro was not alone in making errors.

Kobbee Mainoo - who is one of Manchester United's best players at age 19 - was at fault in Mo Salah's third goal, which effectively sealed the result. He gave possession away to Alexis Mac Allister, who sprung another lethal Liverpool counterattack.

The goal was also one of the most savage moments of 'commentator's curse' that we can recall.

Only moments before Mainoo gave possession away - not shown in the clip above - Gary Neville was bigging up the 19-year-olds abilities at keeping the ball.

You see Mainoo is now the deepest lying midfield player. He's fine when he receives it in tight areas.

Queue rackle from Mac Allister.

He was.

Seconds later, it was three-nil.

Camera catches Carragher in stiches after Salah goal

Sky Sports had a camera on Neville and Jamie Carragher in the commentary gantry and while their schtick in the punditry booth is often tiresome, the footage of this moment is very funny: from Neville's blunt statement to it being proved immediately wrong to the realisation that Carragher was in stiches while Peter Drury was talking about Egyptian archers back to Neville's face palm before wording 'foul' after getting a look at the replay.

It was a day full of rows between Carragher and Neville but this was the most entertaining moment they created.
