Cardiff manager Steve Morison described Callum Robinson as "top drawer" after the 27-year-old set up two goals for his side in a 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
A superb pass from Robinson just four minutes into the Championship game allowed his fellow Ireland international Callum O'Dowda to open the scoring.
Both players are recent Cardiff signings. O'Dowda joined from Bristol City in June, and Robinson from West Brom just before the transfer window closed. Tuesday night was Robinson's second appearance for the Welsh side.
"I’m still getting used to the boys, but I’ve played with Callum a few times, and I know he likes that run in behind. As soon as I picked my head up, he made my mind up with a lovely run, and finished it off nicely," Robinson told Cardiff City TV.
"I’m obviously playing a little bit of catch-up; I missed three weeks in pre-season with an injury, so it was good to get some minutes and help the team win.
"That’s the main thing for me. I said that I want to come here and get goals and assists; I didn’t get my goal tonight, but I chipped in with a few assists, which is nice."

15 minutes after the opening goal, Robinson was again the provider, this time finding Mark Harris outside the box for Cardiff's second. Perry Ng added a third for Cardiff just before the break. There was a nervy finish for the away side as Middlesbrough scored two goals in two minutes during the second half.
"Normally in a transfer window, there's five or six new lads, and the lads who have been in the building for a few years can help you along the way," said Robinson.
"I think I was the 17th signing [this summer], as far as I am aware. It's always tough. I've been trying to learn and watch the boys, and understand how they work on the pitch. For most of the boys, they're still trying to gel. If we can pick up points while we're still learning how to play with each other, I don't see a problem.
"It's a massive football club. It was deadline day, they were really keen to sign me, and I want to play, start every week, and enjoy my football."
