Ahead of the voting for the FIFA 23 team of the year, Callum Robinson and Eric Finn have named their respective team of the year from the nominee's.
In a year when Real Madrid once again claimed the Champions League, Manchester City defended their Premier League title in dramatic fashion, and Lionel Messi finally got his hands on the World Cup, the world's best players are competing for a spot on the team.
While fans continue to vote for their favourite players to be on the team, Ireland striker Callum Robinson and FIFA professional gamer Eric Finn named their preferred teams from the past year.
Callum Robinson Team Of The Year
In goal, Callum Robinson has selected Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for his performances in the Champions League.
In defence, Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo was named at right back, with Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies on the left. The centre-back partnership consisted of Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk and Chelsea's Thiago Silva.
In midfield, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Real Madrid's Luka Modric were named alongside Manchester United's Casemiro.
In attack, Lionel Messi was named after his World Cup heroics for Argentina, with Kylian Mbappe also named for his performances for France and PSG. They were joined by 2022 Ballon D'or winner Karim Benzema.
Eric Finn's Team Of The Year
While it is very similar to Robinson, professional FIFA 23 player Eric Finn made some interesting inclusions to his side.
Like Robinson, Courtois was also named as goalkeeper for his side. His selection in the back four raised some eyebrows.
At left-back, Theo Hernandez was chosen for his performances for AC Milan and France, as the Italian side claimed their first Serie A title in over a decade.
Cancelo was named as right-back, with Van Dijk and Real Madrid's Éder Militao at centre-back.
In midfield, Federico Valverde was named alongside De Bruyne and Modric for his performances for Real Madrid.
In attack, Finn claimed Vinicius Jr outperformed Lionel Messi to be named alongside Benzema and Mbappe.
