Bristol City welcome Manchester United to Ashton Gate tomorrow for their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash. Mourinho's men are the defending champions and the Portuguese boss has already spoken during the week about taking the competition "seriously."
It appears the hosts are set to go all out to try and wow the United coach. Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has told BBC Sport he went out and ordered a "£450 bottle of wine" for the post-game drink managers regularly share.
I spent £450 on a bottle of wine! I have had to raid my little girl's piggy bank. It is being flown in especially from Portugal. We have done the due diligence and realised Jose likes this particular bottle that has to be poured by an expert. So hopefully he'll come in and have a little chat with me and I'll try to pick his brain for five or 10 minutes.
Mourinho is known to enjoy good wine post-matches, a tradition he used to share with Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson told Decanter in 2014 Chelsea's wines were "like paint stripper" when he first met Mourinho and engaged in the practice.
In response, Mourinho is reported to have brought a fine wine with him on the team coach to Manchester United. It appears that gesture will play out in reverse for tomorrow's game.
