Rugby country was invaded today as a school from Offaly won the Leinster Senior Cup. A momentous occasion as Roscrea made up for their defeat in the 2011 final to competition blue bloods, Clongowes Wood. It was a different story today as they beat Ollie Campbell and Cian Healy's alma matter Belvedere in the final.
They will now be known for being more than just the school Brian Cowen went to.
However, their success was marred by Brian O'Driscoll tweeting this ad which brings the whole school cup competition into disrepute. Rob Kearney, Dave Kearney, Gordon D'arcy and Fergus McFadden starred in a video exalting the glory of this most romantic and old-fashioned of competitions.
Spellbinding woodeness was on display throughout the ad. Perhaps O'Driscoll is still smarting from the fact that Blackrock didn't win it the year he was playing.
Also, there is some confusion as to which county the college is in. While the school is in Tipp, the playing fields are in Offaly. They're the Ballaghaderreen of rugby.
