Having been named as a potential candidate by John Delaney on Newstalk yesterday, McDermott was installed as second favourite to replace Giovanni Trapattoni. However, in a Leeds United press conference today, he said he is committed to Leeds but would like the opportunity to do the job one day.

The video also includes an interview with Leeds and Ireland midfielder Paul Green, who is happy that McDermott wants to stay at the club.
