Liverpool have chosen to part company with first team coach Mike Marsh following a much publicised end of season review. Chairman Tom Werner flew in from Boston at the start of the week to conduct the review and many had speculated that Brendan Rodgers head could be on the chopping block after a disastrous season.
However, as everyone is now aware, Rodgers has survived the review. The same can't be said for former Liverpool midfielder Marsh, who has been told that his contract would not be renewed.
Given that many fans were hoping to see a more comprehensive change at the top, the effective sacking of Marsh does seem like a bit of an afterthought. And it's fair to say many fans have not taken the decision particularly well. An opinion which Phil Thompson has summed up quite well.
Mike Marsh sacked,easy touch,easy option,scapegoat????
