It was quite a protracted saga that eventually saw Liverpool hope Raheem Sterling abandon the Reds to move to Manchester City for a cool £49 million.
Long story short, Sterling originally rejected Liverpool's offer of a new contract, which begin a difficult period between the winger and his manager Brendan Rodgers. It's rumoured that the rift developed between the pair, and is one of the reasons why Sterling tried so hard to force the move through.
Even though Rodgers originally claimed just three days ago that things were good between the pair, he made a 180 turn on those comments at a press conference as the team arrived in Australia.
I was probably, one of a number of reasons why he supposedly wanted to go..."
While Rodgers doesn't elaborate on his admission - it's highly likely that this could turn on and on and on.
