It was an important week for Brendan Rodgers Liverpool future. He held three and a half hour talks with club chairman Tom Werner and president of Fenway Sports Group Mike Gordon on Tuesday.
Despite a disappointing season, the nadir of which was a 6-1 loss to Stoke on the final day, Rodgers will remain on as Liverpool manager.
According to the Guardian, talks were described as “good and productive” and the three agreed on “a comprehensive plan for improvement”.
It looks like part of that plan for improvement could be the signing of James Milner. Reports today suggested that the England midfielder will join Liverpool on a free transfer this week, preferring the opportunity to play first team football over the lucrative wages offered by Man City.
