Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is the latest person to have had his say on Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography. Rodgers responded to Ferguson's claim that Gerrard was "not a top, top player".

Paul Hayward, ghost writer for Fergie's book, has suggested Rodgers should read the whole book before commenting, pointing to this passage:
“We made a show for him [Gerrard] in the transfer market, as did Chelsea, because the vibe was that he wanted to move from Anfield, but there seemed to be some restraining influence from people outside the club and it reached a dead end,” Ferguson wrote.
Hayward says that if Rodgers had read the book, he could then have responded with "something clever, or funny: qualities much needed when Rodgers was obliged to participate in the fly on the wall series, Being Liverpool, in which many of the secret rituals he thinks should be closed to the general public were aired on television, including his own team talks and dealings with individual players."
