Brendan Rodgers was on Bein Sports with Richard Keys and Andy Gray ahead of Liverpool's game against Leicester City last night and he confirmed that he invited Jurgen Klopp around to his house for a chat ahead of the German's taking over at Anfield.
The Northern Irishman was once again extremely respectful to Liverpool, saying that he had an amazing time at Anfield and invited Klopp around to offer him any help he can.
Rodgers also used the opportunity to defend his £32 million signing Christian Benteke, comparing him to Robert Lewandowski. Rodgers pleaded patience over Benteke, pointing out that Lewandowski scored just eight goals in his first season in the Bundesliga.
Benteke is currently displaying all the confidence of a young Irish lad at his first teenage disco, and - to stretch this tortured comparison even further - is hovering around the margins of the club as he does not feature in Klopp's first team.
