While many countries have a handful of teams that dominate the domestic game, the way in which Celtic and Rangers completely overshadow the other clubs in Scotland is not a dynamic that is seen all that often.
Not only do the Glasgow clubs have much larger fan bases and finances than their rivals, but it has been incredibly rare for other teams to break their stranglehold on the league title. Nobody outside of Celtic or Rangers has won the Scottish top flight since Aberdeen won their second title on the spin in 1985.
There were suggestions a number of years ago that the Old Firm clubs should look to join the Premier League, an idea that ultimately did not come to fruition.
Despite this, it is interesting to winder how they would fare if they made the move south of the border.

Brendan Rodgers predicts how Celtic would fare in Premier League
Celtic do not have a stellar European record in recent seasons, something that has led many to suggest that they would struggle to compete in the Premier League.
However, the extra finances available to them were they to make a move to English football is something that would no doubt massively increase the quality of their playing squad.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers suggested that his team would comfortable be a 'top six' outfit were they to become part of the Premier League.
Celtic and Rangers, and I can only talk from the Celtic perspective, but it's an absolutely massive club worldwide.
There's no doubt that if Celtic was in the Premier League, it would be up there minimum in that top six bracket.
It's absolutely incredible. Wherever you go in the world, you will meet Celtic supporters. The fan base, the history of the club, that's what makes it a truly, truly massive club.
Celtic certainly have a massive fan base and global appeal, meaning they would be well positioned to benefit from the extra revenue a move to the Premier League would bring.
Of course, such a switch looks incredibly unlikely. For now, they will have to focus on maximising their resources while being part of the Scottish Premiership.
