This is a really interesting video from November 2012 of Brendan Rodgers describing in detail the problem Liverpool were facing in trying to finish in the top four.
Rodgers explains how a top four team need to be scoring 70 goals in the league but of course in a time before Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool looked dreadfully reliant upon Luis Suarez for those goals. He goes on to describe the different things they were trying to give themselves a bit of an edge in the goalscoring department.
Of course it's funny now looking back on it seeing as at present Liverpool have 73 goals and they didn't require Suarez to score 40. Just goes to show how it's not by chance they're scoring a lot more. Even when you take Sturridge into account, the rest of the team have already have 28 of the 30 goals Rodgers mentions.
