He's back. While Declan Rice's international future is still up in the air, Harry Arter has returned to the fold. The Cardiff City midfielder has been included in Martin O'Neill's provisional Ireland squad to face Denmark and Wales later this month.
Speaking about Arter's return, O'Neill said:
Roy and Harry have had a conversation. Harry is happy to be back and wants to put it behind him. He is happy with the outcome and looking forward to coming in.
Unfortunately, Rice's case is less straight forward: "I've spoken to Declan and the family. They want a little bit more time to make his mind up. He hasn't made a decision yet. I am hopeful."
Richie Towell's recent form for Rotherham has also earned him his first call up. We are of course without injured captain Seamus Coleman, along with Stephen 'WhatsApp' Ward and Jon Walters.
