The Brazilian Ronaldo had a health scare last Friday after the former footballer was rushed to hospital reportedly suffering from pneumonia.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario de Ibiza, Ronaldo took ill on Friday, complaining of chest pains and was rushed to hospital.
The outlet reported that Ronaldo was admitted to Can Misses Hospital on Friday evening, before he requested a transfer to a private hospital called Clinica Nuestra Señora del Rosario that same evening.
The former Ballon d'Or winner was said to be in intensive care but progressing well and this evening the 41-year-old has tweeted an update to his followers in which he assured them that he is recovering from what he described as 'a strong flu':
Friends, I had a strong flu picture in Ibiza and I had to be boarded on Friday but it's all in order. I get the discharge tomorrow and come back home. Thank you all for your love and your messages!

Ronaldo has suffered from thyroid problems since retiring as a footballer which have led to weight issues for the Brazilian.
