Nate Silver is an American writer and statistician who specialises in political stats and analysis, but also dabbles in sports statistics, and he has concluded that Brazil are the overwhelming favourites for the 2014 World Cup.

Silver knows his numbers. In 2008 he correctly predicted the winners of 49 out of the 50 states in the presidential election, and now he has crunched the numbers for the biggest sporting event on the planet. Check out his full probabilities below.
