Mick Cooke has been appointed the new manager of Bray Wanderers.
The new appointment comes following the departure of Trevor Croly last week. Croly stepped down after just two months in charge at the Carlisle Grounds, reportedly due to a dispute regarding the payment of players' wages.
In a statement the club said:
Bray Wanderers FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Mick Cooke as our Club Manager.
Mick will be taking immediate control of the squad and will be announcing his staff shortly.
Mick has had a long involvement in Irish Football – he played with St Patrick’s Athletic, Drogheda United , Shamrock Rovers and Galway United.
He has managed Athlone Town, Drogheda United, Monaghan United and been Assistant Manager at Shamrock Rovers.
He is contracted to end 2016 season.
We look forward to getting Bray Wanderers FC back focussed on the football pitch
Bray Chairman Dennis O'Connor appeared on Soccer Republic on Monday night, making some comments which incensed a number of the club's current playing staff.
