Shamrock Rovers began their League of Ireland campaign with a 2-0 win in Sligo on Saturday night.
Shortly before half time, Brandon Miele opened the scoring for Shamrock Rovers. After a free kick was conceded 10 metres outside the box, Miele curled a sublime free kick into the top corner past Micheál Schlingermann in the Sligo goal.
Last season's Young Player of the Year has been nothing short of a revelation since joining from Bluebell United as something of an unknown quantity in December 2014. The former Newcastle attacker is still only 21 and judging by his start to life in the League, there's few people who could argue that he has the ability to take the baton from Richie Towell and become the League's standout performer in the next year or two.
Danny North completed the 2-0 victory for Shamrock Rovers shortly before the full-time whistle.
