Bolton FC taking the extreme measure of banning him from covering matches at the University of Bolton stadium.
The Bolton News’ chief football writer tweeted a gif from the Muppets Christmas Carol in response to the news that the Championship club had paid their staff for their November salary:
I understand Wanderers' players and coaching staff have been paid their overdue November salary this morning. #bwfc pic.twitter.com/ICDdLBBJx3

A pretty harmless tweet all things considered.
Manager Phil Parkinson addressed the story in his press conference today, and seemed to be in the dark over the particulars of Iles' punishment.
I’ve only just heard, obviously that’s the chairman’s decision.
I’ll probably be speaking to him later on this afternoon, that’s all I can say on the matter.
According to the Bolton News the club has had concerns over 'the tone and accuracy' of Iles' reporting over a long period of time and said they took issue with the Muppets Christmas Carol gif calling it 'offensive' and 'amateurish'.
