Bohemians new Bob Marley jersey made national headlines last week, and now it has been given the ultimate seal of approval from none other than Marley' son, Ky-Mani Marley.
Bohs revealed the O'Neill's-manufactured away kit for 2019 last week and it got a phenomenal reaction. Marley played a gig at Dalymount on July 6th, 1980 and the Gypsies Supporters Trust organised a mural of the reggae singer earlier this year.
Now Marley's son has praised the kit: 'This is the dopest shirt I've ever seen," Ky-Mani Marley has told BBC News NI. "I love it."
The jersey has attracted worldwide attention, featuring in Sports Illustrated and Spanish website Marca.
Bohs' Marketing Director Daniel Lambert came up with the idea and told Balls.ie that the attention was welcomed.
We are up against the English Premier League. It annoys me when I walk into a pub and see the list of live sport being shown in the next month, and the FAI Cup final isn't on it. That's the size of the marketing machine you're up against. So you have to think outside the box to get attention.
