Blind Footballer Wonder Goal
With 225,000 views in a couple of days, an awful lot of people are talking about Yvan Youandji and it's no wonder why. The 21 year old Frenchman has represented his country in the 2012 Paralympics Games in London and based on this clip, we know why. He clearly has an exceptional talent.
Blind football is something special, particularly when it's played like this and it really is fascinating to watch the close control, the spatial awareness and, above all else, that finish.
What is, perhaps, even more interesting is that the goalkeepers are allowed to use their vision but we have a feeling that even if you had pilot vision and four eyes, you wouldn't have been able to stop this rocket. He takes the ball in his own half, before losing three defenders and slotting home expertly to a goalkeeper who has the full use of his eyesight.
To resolve any form of cheating, the players in blind football are required to wear masks to make sure there is nobody with a disadvantage, except for the goalkeepers, of course.
Wouandji makes his way over to the celebrating supporters to celebrate his wonder goal and dives over the barrier to finish off the perfect goal.
