Yesterday Blackpool were forced to cancel their pre-season tour due to the small problem of only having eight senior players on their books and not even one goalkeeper.

Now it's rumoured that new boss Jose Riga maybe about to quit over the whole thing, just five weeks after he took charge of the club.

Despite players being thin on the ground and just about everywhere else around Bloomfield Road, their chairman Karl Oyston has been unwilling to sanction some of the potential signings Riga wanted to make.

However, the chairman remains optimistic, saying 'I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to recruit sufficient numbers and quality to be able to compete in The Championship.'

Well given that it starts in just over three weeks they'd want to get their skates on!
