Rest easy, Istanbul.
Barcelona have qualified for the Champions League quarter finals after the Greatest Comeback In The Champions League's History.
PSG led Barcelona 4-0 heading into tonight's second leg at the Camp Nou, only for the Parisiens to shit the bed with alacrity. The home side capitalised: Luis Suarez scored early, and two goals either side of half time: one a hapless own goal, the other a Messi penalty, meant the comeback was assuredly on. As Barca poured forward, there was the added intrigue of the away goal: one mistake at the back would prove costly, as Barca would go from needing a single goal to force extra-time to requiring three by the ninetieth minute.
That away goal arrived, through a thumping Edison Cavani volley. And with that, the balance of the tie vanished for a while, before an absurd finish made it compelling once again: two goals from Neymar (a penalty and a free kick) made it 5-1 on the night..... and then.
Neymar chipped forward, and Sergi Roberto finished it off. 6 (SIX)-1 on the night, 6-5 on aggregate...Barca make history. It's a PSG bottle job, but let's enjoy that for now.
Good grief.
