Chelsea are wilting in a title defence, Liverpool and Arsenal can't defend, Wayne Rooney is scoring important goals and Mark Hughes is standing on a touchline with arms folded and face surly, as if kept on hold by his bank for more than half an hour: it's like the Premier League has never gone away.
The Greatest Most Competitive Most Entertaining League in the World has been in our lives for a quarter of a century, and to mark that milestone, we here at Balls have gone to war with each other.
At the end of four exhaustive and at times bloody arguments, we've come up with rankings for the best characters, kits, Irish players, and Irish moments from the Premier League.
The 25 Best Irish Players
Balls were disappointed to learn that Eamon Dunphy tossed his pen at the screens of his laptop and phone (a split-screen experience, baby) upon learning of the omission of Wes Hoolahan from this list. The Top 25 Characters
Balls had to physically restrain Brendan Rodgers from taking the keyboard here, as his list would have swelled to about 4,692 people. We have discerned a list of 25, which ranks Delia Smith ahead of Alex Ferguson, and Louis Van Gaal ahead of them all.
Come along and disagree, we won't hold it against you.
