Besiktas and Fenerbahçe have been banned by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Committee as a result of match-fixing charges. Be?ikta? will be barred from competing in continental competitions for a year while Fenerbahçe's ban extends for two years with a further third year suspended.

Besiktas have suggested that they will apppeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and have three days to appeal UEFA's decision. All charges relate to the 2010-2011 season, when Fenerbahçe won the turkish league title. Fenerbahçe had been set to enter the Champions League qualifying rounds while Besiktas had qualified for the Europa League.
