They are at it again. Manchester City players have seen one of their teammates suffer a long-term injury, and have once again worn special shirts before the game in tribute to him.
For Ilkay Gundogan last year, see Benjamin Mendy this time around. The full-back will miss most of the season with a cruciate knee injury, and his teammates decided to honour him by wearing these t-shirts during their warm-up. "Shark team" is a nod to the phrase coined by Mendy on social media.

City were naturally derided for this nonsense:
Deepest sympathy with Mendy and his family in the hard battle against... a knee injury! #prayforMendy #2pl #mancity pic.twitter.com/uRiPUntO4m

Bloody hell!! Man City wearing Mendy shirts during warm up. Seems like they're going to be this cringy after every injury.

Joey Barton was annoyed on TalkSPORT, telling City to live in the "real world". At least Mendy enjoyed it...
Who needs a GF when you have these teammates 🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/wu3784R8hi
