It's fair to say that this season was a missed opportunity for Leicester City. Brendan Rodgers' side were in the top four for the entire season, only for some terrible form after the restart to cost them a place in next season's Champions League.
That presents some major issues going forward. A place in Europe's premier club competition would surely have been enough to convince their best players to remain at the club. Now, the sharks will be circling.
One of those who will be drawing admiring glances from elsewhere is Ben Chilwell. The left back has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, but it would reportedly take a huge offer to get Leicester to consider selling him.
According to The Mirror, it would take a bid that would break the world record fee for a defender in to prise Ben Chilwell from the King Power Stadium.
This is a negotiation tactic Leicester all too well having used it during the sale of Harry Maguire to Manchester United last summer. They were ultimately able to secure an £80million fee for the centre back, which Chelsea would now have to exceed if they want to bring Chilwell to the club.
Such an amount would seem excessive for the England international. He is without doubt one of the best left backs in the Premier League, but there you would have to imagine there could be better deals out there.
Chelsea are certainly in need of some defensive reinforcements this summer having conceded 54 goals in the Premier League this season.
