There's another FIFA film on the horizon, but this one won't be the ass-kissing, cringe inducing, stinking pile of delusion that was 'United Passions'.
No, instead, the other guy from Good Will Hunting, also known as Hollywood star Ben Affleck, is lined up to produce "the American side" of the FIFA scandal, after Warner Brothers secured the rights to Ken Bensinger's upcoming book based on his article that is seen as the definitive account of American FIFA exec Chuck Blazer involvement in the FIFA corruption scandal.
The Hollywood Reporter are revealing the early details of the film, which they expect to be finalised soon:
Gavin O’Connor, who recently wrapped the Affleck thriller The Accountant for the studio, is attached to direct with Anthony Tambakis on board to write the script. Tambakis worked with O’Connor on the director’s 2011 fight drama Warrior as well as Jane Got a Gun, which O’Connor stepped into direct when that Natalie Portman Western lost its original director.
Immediately we're thinking Argo, but with Sepp Blatter instead of Iranians, and honestly that sounds brilliant.
We'll bring you more info on this as we get it, but check out the article in full over at HollywoodReporter.com for everything that is known so far.
