Harry Redknapp likes nothing more than what is called in football gossip parlance, a 'transfer coup', even though of course he is not, I repeat not a 'wheeler dealer'. The QPR manager appeared to have pulled off one of the better signings of the Summer after agreeing a fee for just over £5 Million with Celtic for Gary Hooper. Redknapp sounded very confident of completing a deal for the striker who scored 31 goals in all competitions last season and was even giving an early projection for the 25-year-old's goal tally in the Championship
"It looks like it's on its way to being done. Negotiations have gone well.He's a finisher. He'll score goals in the Championship;
"He's in the last year of his contract, so it's a good deal for everybody. It's good for Celtic to get the kind of money they are getting and hopefully it will be a great deal for QPR.
"If he can come here and get 25 goals next season, then we will have a real chance of getting out of the division.
"I think Gary is capable of reaching that sort of target."
"We're going to need two strikers and I think they are going to have to weigh in with 50 goals."
So fair to say 'Arry probably wasn't expecting this to happen.

Redknapp's face might look something like this as he wonders how he'll find those 50 goals now.
