Smiles were brought to the face of many a twitter user when the RTÉ took a sly jab at the failures of the English rugby team in the Rugby World Cup, when our national broadcaster posted this on twitter during the tedious wait for the verdict on Sean O'Brien's citing:
Sean O’Brien's hearing has lasted longer that England's RWC. O'Brien has been in his hearing for 366 minutes, England played 320 minutes.

We laughed, many claiming it was unusual to see RTÉ slagging off a sports team on twitter, but if that was unusual, then we certainly didn't expect to see the BBC having a pop at both the rugby and football teams in the guise of praising England cricketer Alistair Cook.
Alastair Cook has now batted longer than the combined total match time of England at the rugby and football world cups

Ouch.
Maybe they're just upset about ITV having the rights to the Rugby World Cup?
