This season's Bundesliga has been shaken up by RB Leipzig's massive progress from the lower tiers and today the Red Bull sponsored team with ''RasenBall'' in it's name took on champions Bayern Munich in The Red Bull Arena.
Despite the title being no longer at stake, the match was being hyped up as a chance for the newcomers to the league to assert that they are capable of competing with the best team in Germany.
Leipzig have been labelled ''Bayern-Jäger Nummer 1'' which literally translates to ''Bayern hunters number 1" in the country and despite being hugely disliked, they are generally seen as the only other team with potential to topple the bavarian giants.
Unfortunately for Leipzig they just weren't up to the task in an utterly mental match in East Germany. With 84 minutes gone, Leipzig built a 4-2 lead only to implode and concede three goals.
The East German outfit opened the scoring after just 2 minutes via Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer before Robert Lewandowski replied from the spot ten minutes later.
Leipzig then shot back into life and goals from a Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulson put them ahead by 2 before Alcantara pulled one back for Bayern in the 60th minute to crawl it back.
Here are the three goals that swung the match.
84": Leipzig 4-3 Bayern (Lewandowski)
Five minutes later Werner was to strike again and Bayern looked dead and buried until Rober Lewandowski headed back a rebound in the 84th minute to give the Bavarians a lifeline.

90+1": Leipzig 4-4 Bayern (Alaba)
Five minutes stoppage time was announced but it wasn't until the 94th minute that David Alaba stepped up to try and equilise after Naby Keita took Lewandowski down.
90+5": Leipzig 4-5 Bayern (Robben)
Then Arjen Robben did what Arjen Robben does best, a dazzling run, followed by a cut onto his left foot, and 5-4 to Bayern. Football. Bloody hell.
The goal also provoked this brilliant bit of live web commentary.

Leipzig will be dissapointed but won't be too annoyed as they should still compete in next season's Champions League (once ownership issues are clarified).
