As expected, the various television stations signed off their World Cup coverage last night in typically excellent fashion – with some stirring parting montages that will either aid your World Cup withdrawal symptoms, or make them considerably worse as you wake up to the realisation that it’s all over for another 1500 days or so.
This year’s effort from the Beeb was suitably cinematic, juxtaposing a troupe of Brazilian dancers with all the key moments of the past four weeks, to the tune of ‘Run Boy Run’ by Woodkid.

Over on ITV, the parting sequence was a slightly more upbeat affair, with plenty of studio highlights, but it was still pretty great.
