With Barcelona reportedly on the lookout for a left back in the January transfer window, Alberto Moreno is not a man you would think is on their wishlist.
But apparently this is the case according to Mundo Deportivo, with the Spaniard on a shortlist with four other player including Bayern Munich's Juan Bernat, Valencia's José Luis Gayà and Ferland Mendy of Lyon.
The Catalans believe they could get Moreno for a 'good price' with the left back a peripheral figure at Anfield for the past two seasons.
However of the four players linked with a move to the Camp Nou, Mendy is believed to be the La Liga side's first choice, and anyone who has watched Moreno defend over the past couple of years will tell you that he is probably the last option on their list.
Mundo Deportivo write that the fact that Moreno's contract is up in the summer could 'facilitate' a January move for the 26-year-old, giving Liverpool a chance to recoup part of the £12 million paid for the former Sevilla defender in 2014.
Moreno has only made one appearance for the Reds this season, in his side's Carabao Cup defeat last month, and not many Liverpool fans would be sad to see the him leave the club after five error laden seasons on Merseyside.
