Barcelona have made a fantastic gesture to former head coach Tito Vilanova for his service to the club by saying they will honour the final year of his contract. Vilanova, who was appointed head coach last year after Pep Guardiola announced he would be leaving the club, earned €7.5 a year as Barca boss.
He underwent surgery earlier this week following a relapse of his cancer of the parotid gland.
There is also a chance that Vilanova, who will be 45 in September, could return to Barca in a capacity other than head coach.
