Mario Balotelli is rumoured to have done a lot of stuff, much of it good. There are the likely apocryphal stories of him giving a large sum of money to a homeless man he met when exiting a casino and paying for everyone's petrol when he stopped at a filling station.
The latest on the list, though this one appears to have a bit more credibility than previous stories, is that he made a donation to Manchester Dogs' Home which suffered an arson attack last week. 60 dogs were killed in the fire.
Spokeswoman for the dogs' home Jane Smith said:
Mario owns a dog but it was in quarantine in Italy so he used to come and walk all the dogs at the dogs’ home.
We can’t yet confirm whether he made a donation but he is known as a big dog lover so it would make sense.
The donation, made via the Mancheseter Evening News' website, is reportedly a five-figure sum.
