Elite level sport decided by split-second decision-making. Liverpool's last goal of a 4-0 victory proved decisive, coming thanks to a quick corner routine. Credit must go to Divock Origi, Trent Alexander-Arnold and the ballboy.
With the game tied 3-3 on aggregate, Liverpool were awarded a corner which Alexander-Arnold took quickly. However, as far as Graeme Souness is concerned, the Anfield ballboy deserves huge praise for instantly reacting and firing the ball back to allow a quick corner to take place.
Watch this, we will circle him. It goes out for a corner. They are following the ball... watch the ballboy here. He is already on the spot. He puts it down now. He goes to walk away and he realises there is a few dopes gone to sleep. They have all turned their back on it. That is criminal, criminal for a professional footballer.
"Watch this!
"Look at the ballboy. He's on the spot!
"He realises a few dopes!"
"Ronnie Moran always said 'find the dope!'""

Graeme Souness on @VMSportIE calling for a season ticket and 2 Champions League Final tickets for the ballboy who gave the ball to Alexander-Arnold so quickly for the corner. Good call

Remarkably, Trent Alexander-Arnold was also a ballboy as a youth for the club and was present on a much less positive occasion when Steven Gerrard slipped against Chelsea in 2019.
Back then Liverpool failed to get over the line, his intervention tonight sets them up for one final lap on the first of June.
