Look, it's noble or patriotic to hope for other Irish players to be injured, but if James McClean is going to have an opportunity to make any kind of impact in Poland - and not just be the guy sitting next to Darron Gibson on the bench - he's going to have to somehow usurp Stephen Hunt as Trap's first-choice winger off the bench. We love Hunt's ferocity and commitment but his form has been woeful and it seemed as if he might need some sort of extended absence due to injury, which is terrible timing for a loyal servant to Ireland, but perhaps kismet for McCleaniacs. But as the Indo reports today, Hunt will be back training next week. Maybe we can all ask McGeady to take one for the team.
