Bad News For Aiden McGeady As Everton Splash Out On Another Wide Player

It seems as though Everton manager Roberto Martinez does not have Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady in his plans for the current Premier League season, as after securing the signing of Gerard Deulofeu, who previously enjoyed a successful loan spell at the club, another wide player has joined the ranks of the Merseyside club.

Sky Sports News are reporting that Everton have agreed a £15m deal with Dynamo Kiev for Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

Yarmolenko impressed for Ukraine at Euro 2012 and has regularly been linked with move away since. Indeed his impressive goalscoring figures of 19 goals in 49 appearances at international level mean that it is somewhat a surprise that he didn't move sooner, much like his international teammate Yevhen Konoplyanka, who also secured a move to a top league this summer.

Everton fans will be familiar with Yarmolenko as he helped to knock them out of last season's Europa League, scoring in Kiev's 5-2 win over the Toffees last season.

The future remains unclear for Ireland's Aiden McGeady, as time is running out if he is to secure a move away from Goodison Park, with the alternative being having to settle for a spot further down the pecking order behind the likes of Yarmolenko, Deulofeu, and Kevin Mirallas.
